Curriculum

Whether she or he is performing in a rehearsal studio, on a backlot, or on the street where she or he lives, every performer sees those footlights illuminating her or his talent for the world to see.

PreSchool

Pre-dance class for 3 to 5 year old boys and girls.  Although the class is fun it is primarily an introduction to creativity and dance.  We teach the students the joys and benefits of  music, movement, and coordination activities as an early introduction to the art.  This program has been specifically designed to develop the appropriate skills of the tiny, young dancer such as balance and agility.  Students of the Tiny Tots program  do not participate in the June recital,  Instead, several observation classes are held for the parents throughout the year.  Students must be toilet trained.

Tap

A tap lesson is usually composed of simple stretches for warm-up for the feet and ankles and basic techniques followed by step and combination patterns and then a routine.

Classes are provided for students ages 6 and up.  Combining rhythm, timing, coordination and style.   Tap students may audition for the Junior and Senior Competition lines.

Tap I – is an introduction to the foundation of tap including basic steps

Tap – 2 – is an intermediate level expanding and clarifying steps learned in tap 1.  Students at this level begin to add style to their basic movements.

Tap- 3 – is an advanced level where students perfect their technique, style and general abilities.  Many other disciplines of dance are incorporated into this level of dance.  Students at this level may audition for the competition line.

Ballet

Classical ballet classes are offered with concentration on barre and centre work.  At the intermediate advanced levels it is recommended that students take several classes per week.  Ballet encourages grace and balance and will help the dancer in all other forms of dance.

Ballet – 1 – is an introduction to classical ballet.  Students learn arm and feet positions.  Balance is introduced as is poise.

Ballet – 2 – students at this level begin to work on turn out ( 7 years and older), centre work, balance and turns.

Ballet – 3- prepares students for pointe work.   It is recommended student take more than 1 class a week.

HipHop

HipHop is the most popular form of dance among students today.  It is a combination of jazz, ballet and stomping put to modern music.  HipHop is great exercise and the students have fun and learn dance at the same time.

Lyrical

Lyrical is a one of the dance styles of Jazz.  Jazz is an invigorating and constantly developing form of dance that encompasses rhythm, tempo, and passion.  Jazz can be powerful and dynamic or it can be expressive and flowing.  Lyrical is the expressive and flowing form of Jazz; it is very poetic and melodious.  The dancer imparts emotions and wistful movements in a beautiful display of dance.

Zumba

Zumba is a fun cardio dance system based on latin, pop and international music.  No dance experience needed and it is an excellent way to shape up.  So ditch the workout and join the party!

Adult Classes

We offer intermediate Tap and beginner Tap classes for adults, as well as, beginner Ballet.  Check our schedule for class times.
